Early Intervention Evaluator (Johnson City)- PRN

Intro:

We are hiring a PRN(as needed basis) Evaluator to conduct developmental screenings, including the Battelle Developmental Inventory (BDI-2 NU) with children birth to 3 years old that have been referred for services through TEIS. The Early Intervention Evaluator will work in collaboration with the Tennessee Early Intervention System, point of entry offices.

Applicants must be willing to travel frequently within the multi-county service area surrounding Washington County and occasionally travel to Chattanooga and Knoxville for staff meetings and training. Evaluators will be based out of a home office environment within the service area. 


Qualifications:

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting the evaluations primarily in the family’s home, meeting the needs of the family as much as possible in regards to scheduling and location of evaluation.
  • Setting goals for the children referred
  • Participating in IFSP team meetings
  • Keeping strict timelines for evaluations and referrals
  • Entering data and submitting reports in a timely manner.
  • Attending and participating in required training

Requirements for this position include:

  • Must hold the minimum of a Bachelors degree
  • Must hold a Bachelors, Masters, or Doctorate degree in early childhood special education, early childhood education, child and family studies (child development), early intervention, or related field. Related fields would be: deaf education, visual disabilities, special education K-12, elementary education, communication disorders and speech language pathology. (Will be required to provide transcripts)
  • Experience working with/collaborating with the Tennessee Early Intervention System is highly desirable
  • Experience in the field of early intervention, setting realistic developmental goals and working with families towards the achievement of those goals.
  • Highly trained to reliability on the Battelle/BDI-2 NU assessment
  • This position works remotely and travels frequently throughout the Northeast region of TN. Regular use of a personal vehicle and maintenance of personal auto insurance in accordance with TN state law is required.
